“For me to live is Messiah, to die is gain.”

PHILIPPIANS 1:21

“For me to live is Messiah, to die is gain.”

Yeshua died to bring us back to the garden.

Gd created us as beautiful: spirit, soul and body

Genesis 23 – Adam and Eve were both naked and felt no shame

Genesis 1:27-30

  1. Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness,

       so that they may RULE.

  1. Command: Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and SUBDUE it.
  1. May eat: Every seed bearing plant, and from every tree that has fruit on it.
  1. Command: Do NOT eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Consequence: You will SURELY die.

What happened? Man became separated from the life in Gd,

Separated from the mind of Gd and linked to the mind of satan.

PROVERBS 14:12

“THERE IS A WAY THAT APPEARS TO BE RIGHT, BUT IN THE END IT LEADS TO DEATH.”

When Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they saw good and evil as satan sees it, instead of believing Gd, connected to His life and fellowshipping with Him, leading to His wisdom and guidance concerning what is right and what is wrong.

Gd saw the naked body as beautiful; He created it.

When Gd asked Adam where he was, Adam explained that they were naked and ashamed, (some versions say naked and afraid) so they hid themselves.  And mankind has been hiding ever since – from Gd, from his true self, and from others.

Being ashamed, they clothed themselves with fig leaves.

We ‘clothe’ ourselves with something or someone who is not the real us.

Gd says, “WHO TOLD YOU that you were naked? We need to ask ourselves the same question when thoughts come to us- “WHO TOLD ME that?

Gd, Himself, clothed them with the skin of an animal. This was the first sacrifice – the shedding of blood. Life is in the blood.

Mankind died. He lost his true identity, his true value, his intimacy with the Gd Who is LIFE.

WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?

  1. The gospel doesn’t expose my sin; it REMOVES my sin. The lawexposes oursin, and was a tutor to lead us to Yeshua.

        (Galatians 3:23-25, Romans 7:4-13, Romans 8: 11-8)

  1. We love Gd because HE FIRST LOVED US. (1 John 4:19)
  2. The gospel restores me to my created value. (We will not pay a high price for a product which is of low quality; Gd paid the highest price to reclaim us, what does that say about our value?)
  3. The gospel, throughYeshua’sdeath and resurrection, makes us accepted, received, and loved. We are already accepted, received and loved, not because of what WE do, but because of what HE HAS DONE. What we do changes, but what He DID already happened and so can never change; it remains the same forever.

WHO ARE WE?

  1. I am not defined by my ability to fail.

I AM DEFINED BY YESHUA’S ATONEMENT FOR ME.

  1. I am not defined by my ability to sin.

I AM DEFINED BY YESHUA’S ATONEMENT FOR ME.

I AM DEFINED BY HIS FORGIVENESS.

I AM DEFINED BY THE CLEANSING OF MY SIN THROUGH HIS BLOOD.

  1. I am not defined by circumstances.

I AM DEFINED BY HIS LOVE AND PURPOSE FOR ME

  1. I am not defined by people.

I AM DEFINED BY HIM AND BY HOW HE SEES ME

I AM DEFINED BY HIS LIFE IN ME, SO THAT AS I LET HIM

LIVE HIS LIFE THROUGH ME, HE DAILY TRANSFORMS ME BACK INTO

     HIS IMAGE AND LIKENESS.

  1. I am not defined by the world system’s estimation of my value.

I AM DEFINED THROUGH MY CREATED VALUE TO GOD, TO OTHERS

     AND TO THE WORLD.

As we walk in His light, (His full reality), we see clearly when we sin.

After we confess the sin, a prayer that is fully rooted in God’s reality

would be:

“Thank You, Gd, that through Your light, I have seen this sin. The real me doesn’t like it and wishes I hadn’t done it. Thank you for this proof that I am not the same person that I was. Thank You that I am not this sin, I am not a failure, I am forgiven and totally cleansed by Your blood. I am Your child. Thank You that because You’ve taken all my sin, it no longer has a right to manifest in my body. I receive Your healing. Thank You, Gd, for loving me and making me Your son/daughter.”

Adam brought sin into the world, allowed satan to be the god of this world, and death came to us.

Yeshua became the second Adam, living perfectly, and through His death and resurrection, pouring out His abundant provision of grace and the gift of righteousness, with the ability to rein in LIFE.

(Romans 5:12-19, Romans 6: 1-11)

How does this change our perspective?

WE ARE BORN IN ADAM, AND WE NEED TO BE BORN AGAIN IN YESHUA, BY THE SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GD! ( John 3:1-21)

When we are born again, Yeshua comes to live inside of us and wants to partner with us.

I was not originally not made for me; I was made for Him, in His image and likeness, for His purposes, to have intimacy with Him, to know Him more fully each day, delighting in His love and in His ways.

Yeshua said, “Follow Me” (Matt. 9: 9), not sing to Me, not dance to Me.

(Romans 12:1-2): “In view of God’s mercy, offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to Gd, THIS IS YOUR SPIRITUAL ACT OF WORSHIP.”

We find freedom as we live as we were created to live before the fall of man. Romans 8:28, Gd foreknew and predestined you to be conformed to the likeness of His Son.

What is our purpose in life? To be transformed back to the image of Gd that was lost; to let the world see Who Gd is and what He is really like; as they see Him in and through our life, our prayers, our love for one another; to partner with Gd in loving the world around us.

Romans 8:28

Gd works all things to the good FOR THOSE THAT LOVE HIM AND ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.

If we are motivated by the same thing motivating Gd, which is His purpose for our life, we will see Gd working everything for our good. If it is all about us (OUR blessings, OUR works, OUR holiness, OUR obedience, OUR morality), we won’t see that good, for our goal will not be one with His goal, which is to see us transformed according to His image; to put us back in the garden and follow Him as Lord, to fulfill our calling according to HIS purpose.  ( 2Cor. 5: 14-21)

Luke 7:46-49- “Why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say?”

Our ‘house’ (life) can be built on a strong foundation or no foundation. We need to freely make that choice. If we choose His way, we can expect the Ruach Ha Kodesh to strengthen us, guide us and motivate us in following Him.

ROMANS 12: 1-2- Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be TRANSFORMED by the renewing of your mind. THEN you will be able to test and approve what Gd’s will is- His good, pleasing and perfect will.

Most of us have tried to discern the Lord’s will, while believing and acting on the thoughts that run through our heads, whether the thoughts conform to Gd’s Kingdom or not. (WHO TOLD YOU that?)  (2Cor. 10:5)

LUKE 8:16-18- Consider CAREFULLY HOW you listen. Whoever has ( True revelation and understanding from Gd) will be given more. Whoever does not have (True revelation and understanding from Gd), even what they THINK they have will be taken from them.

(Gd takes away the false to motivate us to seek His Truth)

We must renew our minds to conform to His Word; to His Word as taught by the Ruach Ha Kodesh, Who brings it alive to us. To the extent that we do that, to that extent can we know His perfect will for us.

(1 Cor. 2:10-16)

(I John 2:24-27)

When we read Gd’s Word, let us admit that apart from the Ruach HaKodesh, we can’t understand it in our hearts. His Word was inspired by the Ruach HaKodeshtherefore only the Ruach knows the true intent of the Word of Gd. Deep calls to deep. If we read His Word by the Ruach, we will be transformed and look more and more like Yeshua.

The more we look like Yeshua, the more peace, joy and freedom we experience because we are living according to the new nature that Gd puts within us when we are born again.

HOW WE LIVES DEPENDS A GREAT DEAL ON HOW THE GOSPEL WAS PRESENTED TO US AND WHAT MOTIVATED US TO RESPOND TO YESHUA.

  1. How was the gospel presented to you?
  1. What was your motivation for giving your life to Yeshua?
  1. What has been transformed in you?
  1. How has your thinking changed?
